Auto Mechanic

Bachman’s Auto Repair is a part of Bachman’s Roofing, Building & Remodeling Berks County’s #1 Residential Home Improvement Contractor. Bachman’s Auto Repair maintains our corporate fleet as well as retail clientele. We are looking to grow our team with a new Auto Mechanic.

Job Description:

Make repairs and modifications to exhaust systems on cars, light trucks and some medium duty trucks using best practices. Technician is responsible for identifying exhaust leaks and weak points in exhaust system to make proper and lasting repairs. MUST be able and willing to work on exhaust manifold catalytic converter assemblies to be considered for this position.

Job Duties:

  • Inspect vehicle exhaust system to accurately identify needs
  • Make repairs within a timely fashion
  • Ensure work that is performed doesn’t impede, block or hit any other vehicle components
  • Confirm work does meet PA inspection/emissions requirements
  • Ability to look over vehicle to identify any other issues or recommendations for customers.
  • Follow all company safety policies
  • Maintain shop cleanliness
  • Must be capable of setting priorities and working under pressure

Job Requirements:

  • Ability to work well with customers and coworkers
  • Use computer or laptop to look up parts and/or part numbers
  • Have and maintain a valid PA Driver’s license

Physical Demands:

  • Stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls
  • Will be required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals, burns etc.
  • Able to lift 25-75 lbs. on a regular basis without help
